To stimulate appreciation for and celebrate the heritage of embroidery by advancing the highest standards of excellence in its practice through education, exhibition, preservation, collection and research.It is our purpose to conduct instruction and research in the art of needlework and to distribute related materials and publications to members and to the public.
The Embroiderers’ Guild of America, Inc.
The Embroiderers’ Guild of America, Inc. is open to all stitchers from the most basic beginner to the advanced needle artist. With thousands of members and over 350 Chapters throughout the United States and Canada, EGA offers many opportunities for stitchers.
The organization was founded in 1958, and is non-profit, educational, charitable, and non-discriminatory.
It is our purpose to conduct instruction and research in the art of needlework and to distribute related materials and publications to members and to the public.
National Headquarters is located in Louisville, KY. EGA National serves as the steward of the Margaret Parshall Gallery, showcasing member-stitched needle art, as well as the Dorothy Babcock Library, containing hundreds of resources for lending and reference. These extraordinary resources are available to all EGA members.
